Al-Qaeda Kid’s Training Video
The forces of the United States and Iraqi army have issued a video which is said to contain Children under the age of 11 in some cases being trained in acts of terrorism and being armed by Members of Al-Qaeda.
The videos were found in December in a raid on a suspected terrorism cell hideout in the Iraqi Capital Bagdad.
The videos show footage of the kids brandishing guns, grenades and other harmful objects. It is clear to see that the kids were being trained up as insurgents, being shown how to swarm houses, and hi-jack vehicles.
It is said that the Americans released the footage to turn Iraqis against the terrorist organisation, however many are unsure weather the Video will turn Iraqis against Al-Qaeda or weather this will actually attract budding terrorists to the organisation.
In one scene a mock kidnapping was staged, where a captive was forced to kneel in the road with a pistol to the back of his head.
A US military spokesman says it does not look as if the children were forced into doing this and did it entirely on their own accord.
However the Iraqi defence ministry spokesman Mohammed al Askari
Insisted that the tapes were a sign of desperation and were only made to raise funds from ransom.

Evaluation
I chose to go with this story because as I was doing the report for kids and this is related to kids involved with terrorism which is also a big issue at the moment.
I chose against speaking about the US elections, the Kenya election crisis and Israeli raids on Hamas groups.
I went through the process of gathering my information, choosing what to write about, writing my script and reporting it to the camera.
I think that the hardest thing to today was speaking to the camera as it was quite nerve racking.
Next time, I would like to have internet the whole time as the internet went down in our building,
That is the only bad thing I can think of!
